Navigating in Moodle

1. The Diak logo is a link and by clicking it you may get to the front page of Moodle (= the news forums page which is seen in the image below)

2. The My courses link is always visible (or you may wipe it in) in the upper right hand corner. My courses page is a pop up sheet through which you may access all the courses in which you are participating in any role. The My courses page also allows you to view a lot of important actions & events in Moodle activities via quick links.

3. My desktop/dashboard page which gathers all the upcoming events and deadlines into a list view (either course-based or timeline view). In your desktop you may access the calendar as well.

4. All courses link, providing you the course category view. You may search for a course by categories or using the search field and find courses by their name.

Yellow bordered area: access to your profile and settings, the general course grade overview report and log out.

Red bordered area: Year tabs. In each tab you may find the courses with a set end date on that year. The ongoing courses without a set end date are found on the Courses tab which is always visible by default. The other tabs can be opened simply by clicking the year link.

Red dotted area: quick links to many of the newest actions in your Moodle courses. For example deadlines, feedback (for students) and submissions to be graded (teachers), messages and forum posts.

Navigating the course area

The numbered sections below the course title are links. By clicking the links, you will move to the respective section and/or activity and the breadcrumb above the course title will show you your location on the course area. In the image below the breadcrumb is marked with yellow. The first link is always My courses, taking you to your My courses pop up sheet. The second link is the main category and the third link is the semester category of the course. The fourth link is the short code of the course area in question. The rest of the breadcrumb will show the section and the activity which are currently open.

On the bottom of the page you will find arrows to the previous and next activities on the course area. You may also use the drop down menu to move on to any activity on the course area.
