Logging in to Diakle

If you are not able to login, please check the common problems section below, before contacting ICT support.

Diakle can be found directly at https://diakle.diak.fi , but you can also find the link to Diakle at the bottom of https://www.diak.fi where links to most systems are listed.

Please use Google Chrome for Diakle, if possible. The learning environment might work without problems using Safari, Firefox or the new Edge with the blue-and-green logo, but Chrome is the most reliable browser for this purpose.

Logging in is done via the "Student/Staff Login" button on the login page.

Logging in works through the Office365 cloud's login system, so you'll have to use the long version of your username, like [email protected] , and the same password as with other Diak services.

The Username and Password (Käyttäjätunnus and Salasana) fields found on the login page only work for "external users", who have something else than @student.diak.fi or @diak.fi in their usernames, and have not been connected to the Office365 system. The "Forgotten your username or password?" only works for external users.

Common problems

The error message above appears when you have Office 365 credentials from another organization saved in your browser, with the "Keep me signed in" option selected.

We recommend using one browser for Diakle (and other Diak's Office 365 cloud apps) and another browser for the other organization.

If you wish to use a browser that has another organization's credentials stored, you can go to https://portal.office.com and sign yourself out from the top right corner via your profile picture / initials. After this, when trying to login to Diakle, the browser will ask you which credentials to use, instead of automatically attempting with the wrong credentials.

If you want to use Google Chrome for Diakle, you can remove other organizations' stored credentials completely from the browser by deleting the browser cache. This can be done with the hotkeys Ctrl+Shift+Delete on a Windows machine, or via the three dots menu in the top right corner -> More tools -> Clear browsing data, selecting "All time" in the Time range dropdown menu, and checking all boxes (except Browsing history, that does not affect credential problems), then Clear data.

The Office365 cloud is extremely bad at separating different credentials in the same browser. Even if you log out from one account and login with another, when moving between different apps (websites) in the cloud, the browser may try to use the wrong stored credentials and cause "access denied" errors and more. This problem can be fixed by deleting the browser cache, thus removing stored credentials.
