How to unsubscribe from the daily forum posts on Diak Moodle?

The Diak Moodle front page includes a news forum which is meant for informing Finnish students and teachers about upcoming events and the organisation's bulletins. If you are a Diak Moodle user outside Finland and not participating in the degree programs, these news do not concern you. Unfortunately it is not possible to limit the subscription on these forum posts, so by default everyone having a Diak Moodle ID will receive the daily digests into their emails which is used for Moodle log in - regardless of their employee or student status in regards to Diak. However, it is possible for individual users to block these messages. Follow the instructions below to cancel the default email subscription.

1. Open the e-mail message send by Diak Moodle

The message in your email is titled Do not reply to this email (In Finnish: Älä vastaa tähän sähköpostiin...). When opening the message, there is a note saying "This is a daily digest of news posts" or "Tässä on tämänpäiväinen keskustelualueiden yhteenveto Moodlesta Diakonia-ammattikorkeakoulu...". The messages in your email look approximately as the images below.

Open the message and scroll down a bit. Below the first message body  look for the link with small font Change your forum digest preferences  or in Finnish Muuta keskustelualueen asetuksiasi (marked with red in the image below).

2. Click on the Change your forum digest preferences link and log in to Moodle

The link takes you to the log in page of Diak Moodle. After logging in the subscription view opens up (see the image below). Look at the columns Track and Subscribe. Both of these should be switched off (EI/NO). If they are on (YES/KYLLÄ), click on the button and it changes to No.

When you switch Track and Subrscribed to NO, the system should inform you about the changes with a colour bar (see the example images below). You do not need to save any of the changes, just log out of Moodle.
